my local outdoor haven
I am blessed to live in a really beautiful part of Portland nestled just 10 minutes from downtown.
The homes in my neighborhood sell for way more money than I'll ever make in my lifetime. But me, who lives in a rental, and those perched atop the steep hills have one thing in common: an awesome nature park right in our little neck of the woods.
On Sunday I finally went exploring on some of the nature trails. I usually do my runs walks within the neighborhood and don't venture deep into the trails. I had NO IDEA there were so many awesome trails. I think I can cross "discover outdoor haven" off my summer bucket list. It so counts!

Looks nice! Where is that? I was just at the Pittock Mansion today and realized I really need to explore Forest Park more! Urban hiking is more my style than real backpacking! ;)
