hello, weekend

What I really want to do is write a recap about the Royal Wedding. But I'm too exhausted. I'll do something tomorrow, even though you probably won't care by then. I'll care. And that's all I care about! Hmph.

Play along and link up over at Lauren's blog!

1. I am looking forward to the weather getting nicer. This 50 degree crap isn't doing it for me anymore.

2.  Something kind of embarassing that I still love anyway is everything that has to do with weddings. It's embarassing because I'm no where near getting married so I don't feel like I am "allowed" to like weddings as much as I do. But I grew up wanting to be a wedding planner, so it's not like this is a new thing.

3.  My favorite car is  a Maserati GranTurismo. I like what I like - I can't help it.

4.  If I could pick one type of weather to live with for the rest of my life it would be 75 degrees. 70 is still a little too cool and 80 is a little warm. Picky, much?

5.  My favorite thing to do after a bad/stressful day is  to head straight into a hot shower. Then eat some comfort food while watching something good on Netflix.

6.  This weekend  I will be trying out a new recipe tomorrow night and heading back up to Washington Sunday for a family event. Then heading down to Salem for dinner. Lots of road time.

7.  If I were a color, I'd be green. Because I've also taken online quizzes and that's what I am. Plus I'm a duck.

the world is watching

There's supposed to be a wedding tomorrow - have you heard of it? Ha. I didn't make the 1,900 person guest list but I'll be tuning in to watch it live. The ceremony starts at 11 a.m., which is 3 a.m. in my neck of the woods. Am I crazy? Probably. But I wouldn't miss watching this for anything. It's history people! This only happens every few decades. Well, until Harry gets married. And he's technically still single right? Hm. My mind is churning...

Just a day before the big day, a new portrait of the couple has been released. How adorable are they?

Prince William, Kate Middleton

Also, my official royal name is Princess Jessica Lulu Polleyberton of Portlandbury. Nice, right? I think I'll keep it. Get yours: http://www.eonline.com/uberblog/royals/index.html

Best wishes to the lovely couple. And to Kate: Cherish every second of this amazing day. The world is watching.

how great thou art

Carrie Underwood  brought down the house at the "Girls Night Out: Superstar Women of Country" last Friday. She sang the classic "How Great Thou Art" with fellow superstar Vince Gill and it was incredible. When I first watched the video, I wasn't super impressed with the first couple minutes. But then it got good. Really, REALLY good. Like gives you chills good. Just watch.

P.S. In my next life, can I please look like her?!

CAbi Clothing

I visited the Woodburn Company Stores on one of my day's off last week and I hit the jackpot. Not only is Monday a great day to visit, as no one else was shopping, but they've got some great stores. I hadn't been there in years, so sorry if I was out of the loop. It happens on occassion.

My favorite store? The CAbi outlet. If you haven't heard of it, CAbi is a personal shopping experience of sorts, where representatives host CAbi clothing parties in your home. The clothing is probably for women a little older than myself, but I scored some great jeans and workout pants. The jeans were exactly what I've been looking for. Funny how you find what you want when you aren't looking specifically for it! The workout capris are also EXACTLY what I wanted. Kid. You. Not.

Check it out if you haven't before. You won't regret it!

P.S. These are NOT the jeans I purchased. Just a sample from the website.

He is risen!

Happy Easter! I had a lovely day up in Longview, WA visiting my grandparents, aunt and uncle and 5 younger cousins. It's such a treat to live so close.

I also usually score some new fridge art:

God is good!

Hello, Friday!

I took Monday and Tuesday off this week to play but I'm still ready for the weekend again. I can also see from my cube that it's super nice and sunny outside, which is such a tease. Bah.

Any fun weekend plans? I'll be up in Washington to visit the family for Easter. It's one of my favorite holidays, so I'm definitely looking forward to it!

1.   Fridays are  a day for celebrating. Friday's are busy days at work for me, so I get a ton done, which always feels good. Then it's off to spend time with friends and family!

2.  Flirty text messages, tulips, and the sun make me terribly happy.

3.  Something that inspires me is  seeing everyone partake in Earth Day. I love reading all the pledges people are making online to better their lives and our planet.

4.  If I had the day off today I would have done something outdoors. It's so beautiful out, it's making me want to golf, fish or hike.

5.  If I had to put a label on my home decor style, I would say my style is  chic. I have no idea. It's a little all over the place to be honest. But everything goes nicely, I like to think.

6.  Concerning politics I would say I'm  a democrat, though I've become more conservative as I've gotten older. If you want to talk politics with me, I'd  be happy to do it in person. Just not here.

7.  I'd like to go to  Phoenix  so I could go shopping and lay out by the pool in 90+ degree weather. I'm dying for some Vitamin D.

hagg lake

The reaction I usually get from people when I tell them I'm learning to fish is similar to what I think I'd get if I told them I was quitting my job to work as an astronaut for NASA. So this post is for all you people. See? I can do it.

This weekend my family and I headed out to Hagg Lake. It was a bit nippy, to say the least, but Mother Nature played nice and didn't drop an ounce of rain the entire afternoon. Hagg Lake, which is just an hour west of Portland, is gorgeous and I can't wait to spend more time there in the coming months.

Do you fish?

"ultra-stretchy goals"

I have a Dilbert calendar in my cube at work. I tend to wait and buy my office calendars until February, when they are 800% off so I'm usually left with choosing between the cute puppy calendar and "Babes on Motorcycles." This time, I got lucky.

It does bring a little laughter to Monday morning, when I flip to the current week. Here's this week's comic:

If you work for corporate America like me, you likely make goals and can understand this comic. It made my morning.

Happy Monday!

xoxo

happy friday

Happy Friday everyone! I haven't written in a WEEK, so major fail on that. Work has just been crazy and I haven't had the motivation to write any more than I have to. I'll try hard to get back on track next week.

The one thing I CAN commit to is these fill in the blank Friday posts. Please play along with Lauren and I and link up in the comments section! Do it. You know you want to.

Something that makes me a great friend is that I'm dependable. I won't stab you in the back. I'll jump to your side when you need me. I'm not a perfect friend but I truly try hard to be a good one.

I am a girl with champagne taste on a carlo rossi budget.

I am not patient. I would be a horrible teacher. "C'mon kid, just figure it out already!"

If I had to describe myself in 3 words, they would be: Honest. Caring. Hard worker.

Something I'm really cheap about is tops. I hate to spend a bundle when I can load up at Forever 21.

Something I'm willing to splurge on is shoes. I can't do cheap shoes. Quality really makes a difference. And no, I don't mean splurge as in Louboutin or Choos. But a girl can dream!

I would trade every purse I own for  one classic Chanel or LV purse in a heartbeat.

happy april, you fool.

Well hello April! It's nice to see you again. I feel like it's been a year since I've seen you.

It's also April Fool's Day and I haven't been pranked (yet). I'm super gullible so it's not my favorite holiday. I also work in public relations so it's literally one of the worst days for us.

I skipped this last week but here's another round of "Fill in the blank Friday" from Lauren for your enjoyment.

1. The best prank I ever pulled was a long time ago. I'm not  much of a prankster so I'm drawing a blank right now.

2.  A day without laughter is a day wasted.
3. The best prank ever pulled on me was in high school I walked out to find my car covered with cookie dough and sprinkles. They went to A LOT of work.

4.  The most important things in life are  the people you love. Forget the troubles at work - those will always work themselves out.

5.  I dream of  owning my own home someday. Finding a best friend who will be my marital partner in life. Starting a family. Living a healthy and fulfilling life. Seeing more of the world.

6.  A discovery I made this week was that I'm a lot stronger and optimistic than I thought I ever was.

7.  I dread paying my bills every month. Can I get an "A-Men"?
